The above graph shows TON rising to above 5 USD on April 21 on Coinex.
Other exchanges seem to list the peak around April 21 at around 2.3 TON.
At the time of writing TON steadily declined from 2.3 around April 21 to below 2.0 around April 25-26 before now again rising above 2.2.
It is unclear what effect the large OKX exchange and its migration fiasco may have had on the rates, but this occurred in the same period of activity in TON trades.
An update regarding OKX
The migration has certainly NOT gone according to plan, neither in its stated official one-and-only page release concerning the issue, which hasn’t been updated in 12 days now.
Balances were NOT reflected back in the Funding page as they said they would.
Emails were sent yesterday, incorrectly configured, and thus ending up in most spam folders, unseen, announcing that there is a balance returned to TON holders.
Combined with the fact that OKX has still made a loud ZERO of announcements on its Telegram announcement channel, and ZERO system messages in the OKX app, one can rightfully assume they wish to pocket many of these funds.
For, what is not claimed and withdrawn, due to forgetting, illness, deaths, changes of circumstances, loss of accounts etc during the interim, will surely be kept by OKX along with many other such proceeds.
Those who nevertheless have persisted, and managed to withdraw funds, have not received those funds: they disappear from OKX, then are followed by no less than 5 9 23 (!) Emails “Withdrawal approved” and no less than 5 9 23 (!) duplicate in-app “Withdrawal successful” notifications — proving they could use this to reach people if they wanted — and do not arrive on the TON blockchain.
The likely cause: OKX systemic failures, since much else with this migration has been a failure.
The result: you have lost all your TON and have to resort to again waiting for customer service to respond, and hope they won’t blame the TON blockchain.
Latest update going to press: OKX should not have made withdrawals possible, nor be sending confirmation Emails and in-app messages that withdrawals are successful: anyone who tried to do so is in the above state of limbo and fears.
Now an announcement from OKX and again not via its official announcements channel, but via the grapevine and thus maybe not official:
TON deposits will open at 0700 UTC on 2022-04-28 — yes be first to TAKE money again, but not to give it back!
TON/USDT spot trading will open at 0900 UTC on 2022-04-29 — let’s not reward OKX with more trust and possibilities to stress us, use Cryptobot!
TON withdrawal will open at 1300 UTC on 2022-04-29 — yes let’s leave withdrawals until last, so that OKX holds more funds for some 10 days without recourse!
@Wallet Web Bot “Fanfare” - about nothing
In almost unprecedented fashion multiple Telegram channels from the TON Foundation to independent groups all announced that @Wallet now has a button you can press to add Wallet to your attachments menu in Telegram.
What this means is that after doing so, you can now, from within any Telegram chat, click on the paper clip icon and Wallet will be one of the menu items.
Click it and a simple large window opens where you can input the number of TON you wish to send to the other person in the chat.
The problem is, like so many things with “technological advancement” that please the young and ignorant or green-behind-the-ears, but cause the long-in-the-tooth to sigh in desperation, kindness, or deja-vu, or all three, it is not any faster.
It may look sexier, but it is slower than typing @wallet 1.5 within the chat and tapping on the cheque. Using the attachment menu to bring up the Wallet web bot, you have to first tap on the paper clip, then tap on Wallet, and then wait for the page to load from the web, taking several seconds in some parts of the works and also exposing your IP address and other information about the device and browser you are using.
The result? The money is sent just as with the old method, but slower, and with you giving up IP and device information, and whatever else a web browser exposes.
This reminds us of the fact that even after two way radio communication became available to every rat and cockroach via the ubiquitous “mobile phone”, and teens and others can now show off texting at a fast rate by swiping, however, a skilled Morse Code aged radio operator can still send the same text faster.
Yes, of course this will be met with disbelief by those who think Morse Code is dots and dashes on a piece of paper. You won’t know what you’re missing. Don’t believe it? Google is your enemy.* They probably censor everything now anyway.
And how many generation Z telegram users will ever venture off the app anyway? No different from those who used to be, and still are, in the walled garden of Fakebook or Farcebook. And yet you complain about the walled garden of DPRK?
Explanatory Notes:
“Google is your enemy” a play on the words “Google is your friend” which is quoted to those who should search as the answers are readily available on the web. In this age of censorship by big tech, it may be more accurate.
Fakebook or Farcebook a popular reference to Facebook
DPRK: Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, offers the reason for closing its borders and isolation as a means of preserving the “socialist paradise” from contamination. Facebook and other social media also exert significant efforts to keeping their users from leaving their platform, including the use of “are you sure”, “it’s not safe” to click on links leaving the supposedly safe environment of Facebook et al, to the World Wild Web.
My TON coines was deposited in my wallet. after three days!
I think OKex wants to steal our TONcoin.
